NYC Extra

Here's some additional video from our trip to NYC.

The blizzard hit and we went went out and found a place that was open for dinner, took the subway down to lower Manahatten, fought our way through the snow to a vloggercon post party, enjoyed the company of videobloggers from around the world, and went back to our hotel at 2:00 AM.

It was such a fun time!

Green Screen

I went over to New England Cable News this morning for a meeting and got a tour from Steve Safran, Executive Producer at NECN, managing editor of NECN.com, and contributor to the Lost Remote blog.

Part of the tour went by a green screen, so I had to stop and stand in front of it to record some video.

Walk-To School Preference

John Tobin offered a resolution strongly urging the Boston School Committee to consider increasing the Public Schhool's walk-to preference for elementry and middle schools from 50% back to 75%, allowing more of the city's students to attend classes close to their homes.

Lighting Regulations

John Tobin requested a hearing to discuss exterior lighting and lighting regulations in the city.
We've had more and more complaints from residents that have experienced excessive lighting and sometimes this is refered to overlighting or light pollution.

It has an adverse effect on neighbors.

A lot of cities across the United States have confronted similar type issues.

It's happening more and more often. A lot of these condos are lit up light Fenway Park so I'd like to have a hearing scheduled as soon as possible.

Hello Norway

Boston City Councillor John Tobin says hello to Raymond Kristiansen of Norway who's leading the way to get the Norwegian Liberal Youth political party videoblogging.

"This avenue allows people who want to be, and who are elected officials, to talk directly to people and make themselves even more accessable to people out there.

This is the wave of the future I'm very much excited to be the first, I believe, elected official in the United States to have their own video blog, that's all thanks to Steve Garfield, couldn't have done it without him.

We're very excited about it."
